I recently had a request to sew up this gorgeous wrap for a maternity photography session with Katie at First N’ Goal Productions. I was a little hesitant to do this project because I do not have very much experience with thin chiffon type fabrics. Let me say, this project was SO EASY AND SIMPLE! These wraps are so amazing and add texture to any photography session. Here’s how to make your own.
Things you will need:
- 2 yards chiffon fabric
- 8-9 yards of 1″ ribbon
- Sewing machine
- Pins / clips
Straight stitch all the way around the edge with 1/4″ seam allowance. Tuck your corners nicely before sewing over them.
Step 3: Trim off excess ribbon. I like to finish the edge by putting some fabric glue or fray check along the cut edge of the ribbon.
Your shawl is now ready to wear! Follow instructions for your favorite wrap or sarong wearing tutorial. This is one of my go to videos to show you how to wrap the shawl around your body.
